Stephen Guy possesses a winning combination of being both personable and to the point in looking for solutions - in my case workable options for dealing with a meniscal tear in my 51 year old knee. After discussion, we agreed on an arthroscopy to try to correct the symptoms (swelling, catching/clicking, and stiffness of the knee) which were preventing me from being able to play tennis, and generally causing discomfort and inconvenience. I'd had two knee arthroscopies previously at different times under very good surgeons, so was expecting at least a degree of post-operative swelling and some pain/discomfort. In the event, I experienced very little of either and didn't need to take any pain relief during the recovery period. Some 2 months later, I'm playing tennis and generally enjoying an active life again. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending the services of Stephen Guy to others in a similar situation.

I was seen by Mr Guy for a total knee replacement, the process was very quick, once seen for my initial appointment it was only a short wait for the operation, I was really impressed with everything from how he reassured me on the day of the opp, to the aftercare I received, I followed the excersise's given and follow up appointments, and can honestly say my knee is now pain free

Profile

I was appointed as a substantive consultant in 2011 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a consultant knee surgeon.

I trained both in the North-East and in Yorkshire for my Higher Surgical Training and finished off with two competitive knee surgery fellowships.

I have a great team of people now around me who are passionate about improving patient care - from our sports knee injury clinics to academic research taking place in our hospital and stimulating research in other hospitals. I have many research interests and have published randomised controlled trials.

I am open and honest in my consultation style and driven about improving patient care and as such have joined this website.

I would be grateful if you would take some time in leaving me feedback.

Kind regards,
